Mixed Age Kindergarten With Outdoor Classroom
FOR CHILDREN RANGING FROM 3 TO 6 YEARS OLD.
1/2 Day Program
From 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Offered 5 days a week
This program is designed for three and four year old children. Here is where our play-based experiential learning approach comes to life. The children engage daily in practical activities such as preparing the snack, cleaning up after themselves, setting the table, washing the dishes, and helping each other out. This is combined with imaginative play, both indoors and out, which is the heart of their daily classroom experience.
5-Year Old Kindergarten Program
From 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
Offered 5 days a week
This program is designed for our 5 and 6 year old children, who are affectionately known as “elderberries.” The morning activities are the same as the other programs but, in the afternoons, instead of nap time, the students participate in first grade preparatory work. They do form drawing, learn the letters, do preliminary counting with concrete objects, and they start to learn to knit with knitting needles.
After Care Program
From 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Offered 5 days a week
Outdoor activities are the central focus. On days where the weather is a challenge, the children play with the indoor toys, or perhaps work on puzzles together.
